New location and the future of the 2020 Tour!

The Swiss Drone League (SDL) in its function as the official Swiss league for drone racing hereby informs about the changed situation for the 2020 season due to the corona situation. After the regrettable but necessary cancellation of the first two races of the SDL Tour 2020 in St. Gallen (18. + 19.04.2020) and in Lugano (09. + 10.05.2020), a great deal of effort has been put into the search for new options over the last few months and all possibilities have been intensively examined. The tense situation in the event sector as well as in the locations and the uncertain situation of the next months has now led to the following decisions:

The SDL season this year will see 4 instead of 5 races
include

The SDL complements the program with a new outdoor race in
Attisholz area in Riedholz, one of the most spectacular and
former industrial area of Switzerland, which is perfect for FPV drone races.

SDL will, if necessary, increase the number of participants per race
should guidelines issued by the FOPH or by the locations make it necessary. Here the principle “First-Come-First-Served” is applied and a quick registration is recommended.

SDL reserves the right to take further steps and cancel events
changing situations.

These decisions result from the measures adopted at federal level. It is of central importance to us that we can guarantee the safety of the participants, the crew members and the visitors and will continue to do our utmost to overcome this difficult time.

especially the obliging sponsors in these difficult hours of the Swiss Drone League. We are happy that – in contrast to other leagues and events – we can still guarantee a full season with 4 spectacular races.
